Le Petit Pèlerin de Château-Landon
The Château-Landon mascot.
The Château-Landon mascot. In a collection on popular cults from around 1106, we find this little story written in Latin
"That year, a pilgrim came to Château-Landon and died there.
He was buried near the public road of the Château.
As no one knew his name, he was called Saint-Pèlerin.
It is even said that he worked miracles...".
This little pilgrim, the town's medieval mascot, can be found on the roof of a house at
house at 28 rue de la République and his imposing copy, a wooden statue
statue, enthroned on the mound of Saint-Séverin.
